One month after the tragic killing of 70-year-old John Henry Taylor on November 6, 2023, in Benoit, there has been a breakthrough in the case. Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office announced that 18-year-old Latterium Drummer of Benoit was charged with manslaughter on December 6, 2023.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:35 p.m. on November 6, when Bolivar County Sheriff Deputies responded to reports of shots fired in the 100 block of Adams Street in Benoit. Upon arrival, deputies discovered John Henry Taylor, who was shot and pronounced dead on the scene.
Latterium Drummer remains in custody at the Bolivar County Regional Correctional Facility, with his bond set at $200,000.
