Vice President of Greenville Mayor’s Youth Council Dies

GREENVILLE, Miss.–The vice president of the Greenville Mayor’s Youth Council died Friday after being involved in a car wreck last week in Greenville. Ania Wigfall was a junior at Greenville High School.
“The City and I are deeply saddened and heartbroken by the loss of Ania, and send our condolences and prayers to the family (our family) and friends, Greenville High School’s administrators, students, teachers, and staff, Mayor’s Youth Council, and all of those who knew and loved Ania,” said Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons, in a Facebook post.
“This hurts and hits us hard. Let’s pause, pray, and be reminded to cherish and love those around us<‘ said the mayor.
When the state Senate wrapped its session for the year Saturday, they adjourned in memory of Wigfall, at the request of her cousin, state Sen. Derrick Simmons, with acknowledgement from Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann.
