The faith-based, race-reconciliation initiative and nationally recognized, Worship on the Water, will be held virtually on Sunday, October 29, 2023. The goal of this initiative is to foster unity and promote racial harmony regardless of religious affiliation and racial identity. On the fifth Sunday of every month, Mayor Simmons hosts an interfaith, interracial faith service. The speaker for this event will be Pastor Albert Mark Hines, Sr., who is currently the Pastor of Pilgram Rest Baptist Church. Pastor Hines has been pastoring Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church for 43 years. The Emmanuel Baptist Church Choir will perform a special musical selection during this event.
