42 New Coronavirus Cases Confirmed Monday

JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — 42 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Mississippi yesterday, bringing the total to 249. Eight cases have been confirmed in Coahoma County with four in Bolivar County, two in Panola, Sunflower and Tunica Counties, one in Tate, Washington, and Tallahatchie Counties. There are now 19 testing facilities open in Mississippi including in Greenville and two in Tupelo and over 1300 people have been tested. The state department of health’s coronavirus hotline is also now open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer coronavirus-related questions at 877-978-6453. On Saturday the second coronavirus death in Tennessee was confirmed by Nashville’s Vanderbilt University Medical Center. One coronavirus death has been reported in Mississippi and as of yesterday morning, there had not been any COVID-19 deaths in Arkansas.
