PORT GIBSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — Two Alcorn State University students were shot to death and two others were injured Monday night in a shooting at The Ark near Port Gibson, a hangout spot about 13 miles north of the campus on Highway 61. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation says the two students who were killed were 22-year-old James Carr III and 19-year-old Tahir Fitzhugh. Carr was from Itta Bena and graduated from Leflore County High School in 2016. Yesterday afternoon a suspect also believed to be an Alcorn State student was arrested in Adams County. The investigation is ongoing.
