Officer Martavis Moore from the Greenville Police Department received a big honor! Chief Marcus Turner, Sr. gave him the “Officer of the Month” award for doing something brave and necessary.
Here’s what happened: On January 12, 2023, Officer Moore was driving around the city when he saw a shooting near McAllister and Walker Streets. He didn’t waste time and started following a car that looked suspicious. He didn’t know what would happen because those people might have guns. But he didn’t stop.
The award is a way to say “thank you” to Officer Moore for being brave and helping keep the community safe.
