INDIANOLA, MS (Ben Caxton) — 16-year-old Stedarrish Herman surrendered himself to police in Moorehead Wednesday and was taken to Indianola where he faces charges of Manslaughter in the Christmas Eve shooting death of Aquavius Hines. According to Police Hines was shot in the vicinity of Roosevelt Street and Pershing Avenue sometime just after midnight. A friend drove him to the hospital emergency room, who then notified police around 1:00 AM that they were treating a gunshot wound victim. Hines died at the hospital from his wounds a few hours later. Herman is being charged as an adult in the homicide.
