Scott of the Church of God in Christ has passed away after being exposed to COVID-19. Bishop Scott and his wife both tested positive for the virus; she was under self-quarantine at home when he died Friday at a Memphis hospital. She believes he came into contact with someone who had the virus during a funeral last month; two weeks ago News Channel 3 reported Scott may have exposed 300 people to the coronavirus while attending a funder in Clarksdale after that. The Scott family will hold private memorial service due to restrictions on public gathering; when those are lifted a date will be set for public service. Bishop Scott served the church for nearly 50 years and lead the Northern Mississippi Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. [sc name=”twitterfollow”]
