CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — At yesterday’s meeting the Clarksdale city board passed a resolution honoring former judge William Willard. After some discussion, the mayor and commissioners also voted to form a public arts commission to oversee artwork on the sides of downtown buildings and agreed to participate in a Christmas toy drive to be held December 21st across from the Central Fire Station on Desoto Avenue. Cash donations and new unwrapped toys for children up to age 12 will be accepted at the Central Fire Station through December 16th. In executive session the board discussed several personnel matters.
