CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Yesterday the Clarksdale Public Utilities Commission approved a temporary change to CPU’s policy regarding customer extensions. General Manager Curtis Boschert recommended granting payment extensions for up to 60 days during the current emergency and the board agreed. Last week Mississippi’s state public service commission ordered suspending utility shutoffs for 60 days but customers are encouraged to continue paying their bills or make arrangements to avoid a big lump-sum bill after the health crisis ends.
