CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — During yesterdayâs meeting of the Clarksdale Public Utilities board general manager Curtis Boschert told the commissioners that Easter Sundayâs straight-line winds knocked down about 30 power poles and put approximately 3300 CPU customers in the dark. Local crews have been working since Sunday night to restore electricity and by yesterday, with assistance from Greenwood utility crews, had restored power to 85 percent of the affected households and businesses.
