CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Cooper Tire & Rubber Companyâs facilities in the United States and Mexico will remain closed for at least two more weeks to protect the health and safety of employees due to coronavirus. Temporary plant closures announced March 21st include facilities in Tupelo and Clarksdale but the company believes it has enough inventory on hand to continue supplying products to customers. Also, the production of Corona beer has been suspended after the Mexican government declared it a non-essential business; in addition to Corona, Grupo Modelo also brews Pacifico and Modelo. There is no connection between Corona beer and the coronavirus.
