THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — The number of coronavirus death cases continues to climb in Mississippi. As of April 8, Mississippi reported 76 deaths with 441 hospitalizations, a slower one day climb than the day before. Tennessee reports 79, and Arkansas 18 deaths. Deaths in the Delta held steady at 4 in Leflore County, 3 in Bolivar, 2 in Washington County, and 1 in Coahoma, Tunica, and Yazoo counties. For most people coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms like fever and cough which clear up in two to three weeks but milder cases of pneumonia sometimes require hospitalization. The risk of death is greater for older adults, and men, African-Americans, and people with underlying health problems.
