SHARE NOW

DSU Library Services is gearing up to celebrate National Library Week with a full week of events at the Roberts-LaForge Library from April 24-27. The week aims to bring attention to the contributions of the nation’s libraries and to promote their use and support.

The national theme for this year’s celebration is “There’s More to the Story,” and all types of libraries, including school, public, academic, and special libraries, participate annually. Reference/Instructional Services Librarian Peter Dean said, “I think this is a great opportunity to see new faces in the library that may not have had an opportunity to visit the library until now. We here at Roberts LaForge Library encourage everyone to stop by and explore all that the library has to offer our students.”

The week’s events will begin with trivia games on Monday, April 24, at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in room 157, with winners receiving Skullcandy earbuds. On Wednesday, April 26, from 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Dr. Josh Armstrong will lead a drum circle in the Instructional Resource Center. Thursday, April 27, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., a Faculty Author Showcase featuring three published authors will take place.
