Espy said 2020 will be a year to execute plans and projects put forth in the last couple of years, adding the next quarterly community forum will be held Monday at 5:30 in the civic auditorium. That’s where he hopes to announce plans to allow the public a voice in choosing the mayor’s appointments to city boards. Terms for the mayor’s “at large” nominations to the public utilities and Clarksdale Municipal School District boards are up this year and Espy would like qualified citizens to announce their desire to be considered and vote on the candidates.
