Alligator, Mississippi – A tragic shooting incident occurred on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, when the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distress call reporting multiple gunshots at 9 Burchfield Road, Apartment Number 6. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds inside the residence. The Pafford Ambulance Service immediately provided medical assistance to the victim.
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Antwon Scott, a resident of Alligator, Due to the severity of his injuries, Scott was airlifted to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Sadly, while en route to the hospital, Scott succumbed to his wounds. The motive behind the shooting remains unknown, and authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In a significant development, 19-year-old Curtis Nawls, a resident of Alligator, has turned himself in to the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office. Nawls is believed to be connected to the shooting and will remain in custody until his initial court appearance. The specific charges against Nawls have not been disclosed at this time.
