GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — A routine fire call has turned into a homicide investigation in Greenville. Fire and police units were dispatched to a residential fire at 5:17 East Moore Street just before 6:30 AM Saturday morning. After firefighters extinguished the blaze they found a victim inside who was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington County Coroner. The cause of death is being withheld from the public at this time pending an autopsy. However, criminal investigators are currently investigating the incident as a homicide based on information at the scene. The victimâs car was also taken from the location but has since been located. No arrests have been made at this time.
