MERIGOLD, Miss.–At least three people were hurt in an explosion at the Hayes Cooper Center in Merigold in Bolivar County, Tuesday morning.
Preliminary information indicates a gas leak may be responsible. But, that will have to be confirmed by the state fire marshal, who is investigating.
According to one town official the three people who were hurt include a teacher and two students who were in the classrooms where the explosion took place. Their injuries were described as burns. The severity of the injuries was not disclosed.
