A Greenville man has been charged with felony child deprivation after his infant son was found dead in a car on Monday. The Greenville Police Department received a call from the 700 block of Manilla Street reporting that the father, Rapheal Montgomery, had not returned home with his 3-month-old child.

When officers arrived, the child’s mother informed them that Montgomery had left the infant in the vehicle while he worked at Delta Health Systems. Hospital staff confirmed the child was deceased upon arrival.

Montgomery has been charged with Felony Child Deprivation of Necessaries with Substantial Harm. He is currently detained at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility, awaiting his initial court appearance.
