JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — Students at Catholic Schools in Greenville and around the state will have two extra days to shelter-in-place at home or enjoy their vacation, as the Catholic Diocese of Jackson has decided to extend Spring Break. Superintendent of Education Catherine Cook in a letter to families sent Friday suggests any students who traveled internationally during this time also stay away from school for 14-days from their return to U.S. soil. Faculty and staff will be reporting back on Monday, with classes now set to resume on March 18. Greenville public school students will get Monday off after classes have been canceled to start the week, but need to report back for a regular schedule on Tuesday. The moves come after Mississippi Valley State, Delta State and the other six Mississippi public universities have extended this week’s spring to March 23.
