Greenwood Police End Pursuit for Stolen Vehicle

AVALON, Miss.–A chase that began in Avalon in Carroll County ended when police in Greenwood put down spike strips to stop the car. That happened Friday, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Dept.
Arlin Ray Roberson, 35, of Greenville, was arrested after the chase, which went up Hwy. 7, and charged with fleeing and possession of meth.
A Monday chase by Carroll County deputies that began on I-55 near Vaiden and reached speeds of over 100 mph, ended with the arrest of Demetrius Harbin, 22, of Holcomb.
Deputies performed a “pit maneuver”, which involves boxing in the vehicle, to stop Harbin’s car.
He was charged with aggravated assault on an officer, possession of stolen property and felony fleeing. The car he was driving was stolen from Byram.
