Greenwood Walmart Too Crowded for Mayor’s Liking

GREENWOOD, MS (Ben Caxton) — There are just too many people spending their government Coronavirus checks at Walmarts in Greenwood. Now the Mayor is stepping in by issuing a new order that allows on 125 people in any store at a time and two people per shopping cart and mandating “social distancing” throughout the visit. Mayor Carolyn McAdams says Walmart has greed for the additional restrictions, even though the company already is restricting the number of customers inside based on the square footage of each store and dedicated employees to maintain social distance of customers waiting in line outside the stores for their turn to enter and shop. The council will take up the matter on Tuesday.
