GRENADA, Miss.–Grenada County sheriff’s deputies spent part of their day Thursday destroying machines used for illegal gambling outside the AK Express on Hwy. 8 east. According to a news release from the sheriff’s department they conducted a bust there as part of an on-going investigation into illegal gambling in the county.
At least one other such bust has happened in the county this year.
Deputies destroyed all but one machine on the spot, which was kept for evidence. They also arrested Amy Watson, who faces unspecified charges and was being held on a $2,500 bond.
They also called the owner of the business, but said that person refused to come to the property.
Deputies also found money, which was seized for evidence.
Watson was also cited by the ABC for the sale of alcoholic beverages where illegal gambling was happening.
