TCHULA, MS (Ben Caxton) — A high school principal and a former police chief have been indicted by a grand jury. Prosecutors say Yazoo County High School principal Phillip Turner concealed or aided Samuel Carter to escape or avoid arrest for a felony. Carter was chief of police in Tchula when he allegedly strangled a child last August. A male student told authorities Carter shoved him into an occupied girlâs restroom and choked him; Carter said the student attacked him.[sc name=”twitterfollow”]
