CLARKSDALE, Miss. — Higher Purpose Co. has been awarded a $2.2 million federal grant to develop a regional economic opportunity hub in Clarksdale, Mississippi. The grant, provided by the Delta Regional Authority and the U.S. Economic Development Administration, will fund the renovation of a historic building in Clarksdale to create a hub aimed at improving the financial, physical, and cultural well-being of Mississippi residents. The Higher Purpose Hub will offer centralized services and amenities, including business resources, job creation, access to fresh food, and arts programming.
“This grant is a major step in realizing our vision of enhancing economic opportunity in Mississippi,” said Dr. Tim Lampkin, Founder, and CEO of Higher Purpose Co. The funding is part of the EDA’s Economic Adjustment Assistance program, supporting regions facing economic challenges.
