A tragic car crash on Highway 49W has left one person dead and another’s condition unknown. The incident occurred on Sunday, March 12th, 2023, at approximately 7:52 PM, prompting the Mississippi Highway Patrol to respond to the scene and investigate the accident.
As per initial reports, the accident involved a Dodge Charger driven by 36-year-old Kevin Harris from Ruleville, MS, traveling north on Highway 49W, colliding with a 2008 Nissan Altima driven by 49-year-old Preston Phillips from Carrol County, who was heading south on the same highway. Unfortunately, the crash proved fatal for Harris, while Phillips’ condition remains unclear.
