A new AP/NORC poll shows anxiety in the US over COVID is at its highest level since winter.
The poll shows 41% of those surveyed are “extremely” or “very” worried about themselves or
their family becoming infected with the virus; that’s up from 21% in June. In January, during the country’s
last major surge, 43 percent said they were extremely or very worried.
When it comes to mask mandates? Fifty-five percent said they support requiring Americans to wear masks
around other people outside their homes; 62% support mask mandates specifically for workers
who interact with the public. The poll surveyed more than 1,700 adults and was conducted Aug.
