In Mississippi, there were 274 new cases of COVID-19 and 32 new deaths reported Monday by state health officials.

JACKSON, Miss. (Ben Caxton) – In South Mississippi, that number breaks down to 43 new cases and three new deaths reported for the six southernmost counties.

As of Aug. 30, 2020, the new cases are reported in the following: Jackson County (15), Harrison County (15), Hancock County (5), Stone County (4), Pearl River County (3), and George County (1).

Three deaths were reported in Harrison County. Of those, two occurred between July 8 and Aug. 24, said MSDH.

Mississippi investigates both probable and confirmed cases and deaths, said MSDH. As of Aug. 30 at 6pm, there have been a total of 82,950 cases investigated, which includes 3,785 probable cases. There have been 2,473 deaths investigated, including 154 probable deaths.
