OXFORD, Miss.–Ten dogs are dead and 20 more are being cared for by a veterinarian after an animal cruelty bust in Lafayette County.
The bust happened Sunday on County Rd. 418. Sheriff’s deputies said they had gotten several calls about the animals and the conditions in which they were being kept.
When they got the property they found several dogs that had been starved and still others that were dead, still chained up.
Terry Pegues, 47, was charged with ten counts of animal cruelty, and is being held on a $75,000 bond.
