Greenville, Mississippi – The Legacy Purpose Success Men’s Entrepreneurship Summit held at Harlow’s Casino Resort in Greenville saw dozens of men, young and old, chanting in inspiration, “Can’t nobody stop you, but you.” The event was hosted by the economic justice nonprofit Higher Purpose Co. based in Clarksdale, which aims to “build community wealth with Black residents in Mississippi by supporting the ownership of financial, cultural, and political power,” according to their website.
This year’s summit connected business owners and artists with some of today’s most prominent influencers. Among the special guests were Multi-platinum producer and award-winning director Isaac ‘Chill’ Yowman, Grammy-award winning poet J. Ivy, Former HR Director at Netflix Animation Aaron Mitchell, Quintin Crumpler, Creative Director of GOAT by James King, and Director of Artist Relations at Equity Distribution Rel Carter, and many other industry leaders.
Financial experts were also present at the event to offer information on achieving generational wealth. The attendees praised the summit, highlighting the ability to soak in a wealth of knowledge free of charge as their favorite part. Along with the valuable information and resources given by notable figures, attendees were treated to an inspirational performance by award-winning poet and spoken word artist J. Ivy, who also served as the conference host.
“Dreams don’t come true, they are true, so dream big and after that dream bigger,” said J. Ivy.
Organizers have planned to continue the event each year, providing a platform for Black men to network and gain valuable insights from industry leaders.
