JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — A controversial “anti-gang” bill will come up again at the State Capitol this session. Previous versions of the bill would have set penalties for luring people into gangs, increased prison time for those tied to gang activities and eliminated the possibility of early release for prisoners convicted of gang-related crimes. However, some lawmakers fear the bill could lead to racial profiling, a larger prison population and longer prison sentences.[sc name=”twitterfollow”]
