JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — Mississippi Revenue commissioner Herb Frierson says his department was in pretty good shape before to the COVID-19 outbreak but he expects a major drop in revenue under the stateâs stay-at-home order. Even though most of the economy is shut down, liquor stores are enjoying record sales…selling about 15 percent more than they did during Christmas and New Years. Mississippians have until May 15th to file state income taxes and until July 15 to file federal forms. About 63 percent of Mississippi taxpayers have already filed their federal income tax.
