JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — For the first time in a long time the state of Mississippi has solved the problems of long lines at driver license stations. They’ve closed them all. The offices are bing closed through at least the end of March, you guessed it, to avert a possible spread of coronavirus. The nine Highway Patrol District Troop Stations will only provide limited services including sex offender registry transactions and medical card updates and renewals for commercial drivers licenses but no testing. Applications for a renewal or replacement drivers license or identification cards or address changes can be done online at driverservicebureau.dps.ms.gov. Federal REAL ID compliance requires an in-person renewal every other renewal period, and affected customers will have to wait for driver’s license stations to reopen.[sc name=”twitterfollow”]
