A Free Expungement Clinic is scheduled for Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Buster Brown Community Center. Thanks to a collaborative effort between multiple organizations, including Delta Health Alliance, the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project, the Mayor’s Office, and the City of Greenville Parks & Recreation.

For many, the opportunity to expunge past legal records is a lifeline, and this event seeks to provide that lifeline. However, participants must adhere to specific requirements to access these services.

First and foremost, pre-registration is mandatory, and interested individuals must register at www.mvlp.org/clinics (http://www.mvlp.org/clinics) before the clinic date. This step is essential to streamline the process and ensure that everyone seeking assistance can be accommodated.

Furthermore, attendees must come equipped with specific documents depending on the nature of their charges. For those with misdemeanor charges, the following documents are needed:

•    An Abstract of Court Record, which can be obtained from the municipal or justice court in the city where the charges were initially received.

•    Proof of Payment of Fine/Fees.

Individuals with felony charges must provide the following documents, obtainable from the Circuit Court in the county where the charges were received:

•    A Sentencing Order or Dismissal Order.

•    An Indictment.

•    A Discharge Order.

•    Proof of Payment of Fines and Fees.
