VICKSBURG, Miss. (Ben Caxton) – Mississippi Department of Transportation crews have shut down I-20 eastbound at the Mississippi River bridge to make repairs after a crash that happened Sunday morning, leaving one injured.
The westbound side of I-20 near the bridge will be shutdown at 4 p.m.
Michael Flood with MDOT said that crews are is fixing issues around the bridge that were caused during the accident.
He said that repairs could take 2-5 hours to complete and encourages anyone traveling through this area to find an alternate route.
The crash happened around 10:20 a.m. on I-20 eastbound into Mississippi from Louisiana.
It is reported that a CarMax car hauler lost control, hit an unoccupied service vehicle, and took out a guardrail.
The driver of the car hauler suffered minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
