GREENWOOD, MS (Ben Caxton) — A Delta city is using surveillance cameras to deter people from dumping trash on the side of the road. Last year Greenwood installed a dozen cameras to capture license numbers and Mayor Carolyn McAdams believes they have deterred some people from illegally dumping big items like appliances, but overall she thinks roadside litter is getting worse on US Highway 82 with fast-food bags and other trash discarded by people driving through town.
