Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a multiple vehicle crash that resulted in the death of 16-year-old Dawson Mims of Greenwood.
Around 7:25 a.m., troopers responded to Highway 17 in Carrroll County. The following vehicles were involved in the incident:
A 2012 Toyota Camry driven by 16-year-old Grace Ferguson of Coila, MS, a 2005 Chevorlet Tahoe driven by 16-year-old Dawson Mims of Greenwood, Ms, and a 1987 Peterbilt 359 TR driven by 83-year-old Fred Meece of Stewart, MS.
The Tahoe collided with the Peterbilt causing the Tahoe to collide with the Camry. Fred Meece was transported to an area hospital to treat his injuries.
This is an on-going investigation.
