JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — Spring Break just got a whole lot longer in Mississippi. In a Facebook post on Thursday Governor Tate Reeves said he was extending the forced school closures statewide through April 17. End-of-year testing requirements will be relaxed, and Reeves said he is giving the state education department more flexibility to waive or change its rules and regulations over the coming months. Reeves also made it clear that school districts will continue to receive state funds and teachers will continue to be paid, despite the school closures.[sc name=”twitterfollow”]
