A lawsuit filed by the Jefferson County School District alleges that Juul’s marketing strategy has led to teenagers becoming addicted to their products and directly contributed to the rise in vaping-related lung illnesses. Altria, the company that owns Juul, is also listed as a defendant along with Philip Morris and Nu Mark. According to the Mississippi Center for Public Policy, attorneys want to have the lawsuit certified as a class-action suit on behalf of all Mississippi school districts. Similar lawsuits have been filed by school districts in Kansas, Missouri, New York and Washington. [sc name=”twitterfollow”]
