Six esteemed faculty members from Delta State University (DSU) have recently successfully completed accreditation programs offered by the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE). ACUE, renowned for its commitment to evidence-based teaching practices, has demonstrated its ability to boost student retention, foster a sense of belonging and achievement, and narrow equity gaps within higher education.

The newly accredited faculty members, representing diverse academic disciplines, include Kelley Willard in Nursing, Dr. Jon Westfall in Counselor Education and psychology, Peter Dean in Library studies, Lynn Byrd in Accountancy, Jennifer Knudsen in Social Science, and Dr. Tim Watkins in Teacher Education, Leadership, and Research.

Dr. David Hebert, the Interim Director of The Gertrude C. Ford Center for Teaching and Learning, praised the collaboration between DSU and ACUE, stating, “ACUE is an organization that delivers high-quality courses and certifications to faculty, leading to greater student success. Delta State University has been partnering with ACUE for over five years, and the results speak for themselves.”
