GREENWOOD, MS (Ben Caxton) — After Greenwood Mayor Carolyn McAdams took to social media to post her frustration with the city’s internet service provider, Suddenlink, the company has responded. McAdams is reported Tuesday as saying that she had received an email from a company representative informing her that technicians would be on site this week to “check the area nodes” and see if any aren’t performing at an optimal level. The issues came to light during an abortive interview with local radio station WMYQ-FM where the connections through Suddenlink continually dropped out. Larry Fuss, President of Delta Radio Network which operates stations in Greenwood, Greenville, Indianola and Cleveland and owns WMYQ said the problems with Suddenlink are not unique to Greenwood noting that in neighboring Greenville there also are frequent outages lasting up to a full day or more with nobody to talk to locally for help. Greenwood has an exclusive agreement with Suddenlink for service to the city through 2026.
