COAHOMA COUNTY, MS (Ben Caxton) — Coahoma County supervisors are putting the Jonestown bypass project on hold for now. M&M Excavators have submitted the low bid of $2.6 million for the project, but casino tax and other revenues have dropped during the COVID-19 crisis. Earlier this month county supervisors discussed a possible 4 mil tax increase to fund the bypass and the countyâs new $12.5 million Justice Complex; they had previously cut over $30,000 in monthly appropriations including the airport, animal shelter, health agencies, and North Delta Planning.
