CLEVELAND, Miss.–Dangerous heat is expected again all week in the Delta. Little relief is expected in the form of rain.
“We’re looking at air temperatures before you add in the heat index, pushing 100 in most locations,” said National Weather Service forecaster Nicholas Fenner. “When you do factor in the increase in humidity this week, we’re looking at a climb into the 105 to 110 range for heat index values.”
Fenner said the hottest and most oppressive days will be Wednesday through Friday.
He said the increase in humidity will mean small rain chances are possible Thursday and Friday, but will likely do little to relieve drought conditions that persist, particularly in the northern parts of the area.
