The Flowood Police Department arrested a man and a woman in connection with a homicide in North Carolina.

FLOWOOD, Miss. (Ben Caxton) – The Flowood Police Department arrested a man and a woman in connection with a homicide in North Carolina.

Police say they were sent to a local hotel for welfare reasons. Two people were reported to be sleeping in a blue Ford Explorer with Georgia license plate.

Police say when they arrived at the scene they learned that the license plate on the vehicle was stolen from Georgia. Following a new discovery, officers learned that the vehicle was stolen from North Carolina in connection with a homicide in Swain County, North Carolina.

Flowood police detained the two suspects without incident.

The suspects have been identified as Robert Willoughby, 49, and Lorrieann Robinson, 42, both from North Carolina.

They are in custody for a felony for receiving stolen property.

Police say North Carolina detectives will fly in Thursday to interview the two and process the vehicle.

No link has been established at this time. The two are scheduled to appear in Flowood Municipal Court on Tuesday, August 25, for trial.
