A domestic dispute between two stepbrothers turned deadly on Wednesday night, resulting in a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 40-year-old Christopher Dotson. The incident occurred at approximately 8:54 pm on Armistead Street in Lula, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement.
The Coahoma County 911 dispatch center received an urgent call reporting the shooting, leading Sheriff deputies to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered Christopher Dotson lying in the front yard, having sustained gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, Dotson succumbed to his injuries and tragically died.
The alleged perpetrator, identified as William Johnson, was found inside the residence when the deputies arrived. Johnson, also a resident of Armistead Street, complied with law enforcement and was taken into custody without incident. He is currently held at the Coahoma County Adult Detention Facility, facing a murder charge concerning the shooting.
