Two Arrested for Contraband Introduction at Bolivar County Regional Correctional Facility

The Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office apprehended two individuals on Monday, September 4, 2023, in connection with an alleged attempt to introduce contraband into the Bolivar County Regional Correctional Facility.
The incident unfolded at approximately 3:27 p.m. when a Bolivar County Sheriff’s Deputy noticed a vehicle parked on the premises of the Bolivar County Regional Correctional Facility. The deputy’s attention was drawn to a male individual seen fleeing from the facility’s grounds and hastily entering the vehicle.
A traffic stop was executed on the vehicle, revealing its occupants a black female and a black male.  The investigation led to the discovery that the male suspect had discarded contraband onto the correctional facility’s grounds.
The individuals involved have been identified as 19-year-old Jermereia Short, a resident of Indianola, Mississippi, and 23-year-old Tevin Cameron, hailing from Shaw, Mississippi. Both suspects now face charges related to the Introduction of Contraband into a Correctional Facility. They are currently in custody at the Bolivar County Correctional Facility, awaiting their preliminary court hearings.
Bond amounts have been set for the accused. Tevin Cameron’s bond has been established at $50,000, while Jermereia Short’s bond is set at $30,000.
