GREENVILLE, Miss. — Two Greenville men were arrested over the weekend in separate incidents and now face felony drug charges, police said.

On Saturday, June 7, at approximately 10:29 p.m., officers with the Greenville Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop at Alexander and Railroad Avenue for a vehicle equipment violation. Police said the driver, identified as 22-year-old De’Errick Calvin, admitted to smoking marijuana, which led to a further search.

Officers allegedly found additional marijuana, suspected Ecstasy pills, and a firearm that had been illegally modified to function as a fully automatic weapon. Calvin was arrested and charged with felony possession of a machine gun, possession of a controlled substance (Ecstasy), and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Less than four hours later, on Sunday, June 8, at around 2 a.m., officers responded to reports of a large crowd near Deaton and South Theobald Street. Police said they discovered 23-year-old Kiyorae Neal asleep in an illegally parked vehicle. A search of the vehicle turned up a plastic bag containing 85 dosage units of MDMA-Ecstasy.

Neal was taken into custody and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.

Both men were booked into the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility and are awaiting their initial court appearances.

All suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
