While the federal government has postponed the income tax filing deadline to July 15, Mississippi taxpayers face a May 15th filing deadline. The state Department of Revenue says thatâs necessary to have a balanced budget as of the fiscal year on June 30th and says doing so would create a $500 million deficit for the current fiscal year. However, the Homestead Application Deadline has been extended until May 1st due to the COVID-19 health emergency. [sc name=”twitterfollow”]
