The Greenville Fire Department swiftly responded to a distress call today, dispatching Rescue 2, Engine 5, and Command 1 to 1825 Michigan Street to combat a raging vehicle fire. Upon arrival, firefighters were confronted with a harrowing sight—a passenger vehicle completely engulfed in flames on the side of the street. Prompt action by Rescue 2, utilizing their front jumpline, resulted in a quick and efficient extinguishment, bringing the fire under control within minutes. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

However, the aftermath of the blaze has taken a troubling turn, as the Fire Marshal and Arson Division were called to the scene to conduct an investigation into the origins of the fire. After a thorough examination, authorities have determined that the vehicle fire was not accidental but was, in fact, an intentional act of arson. The motive behind the arson remains unclear at this time, and investigators are urging anyone with information pertaining to the incident to come forward.
