VICKSBURG, MS (Ben Caxton) — Train traffic across the Mississippi River at Vicksburg was shut down again for a time Monday after the old Highway 80 bridge was hit by a southbound towboat pushing six barges filled with rocks. The collision occurred just before 7:00 AM on Pier 4 on the Lousiana side of the river. None of the barges sank and were pulled to shore withing an hour.
